Safari Update – Rivertrees Country Inn
Rivertrees County Inn, Arusha, Tanzania
1 June 2014
It’s around 0700 and I am sitting here at the Rivertrees County Inn,located in the USA River District of Arusha, having a cup of freshly brewed Tanzanian coffee, fresh bread, juice, etc. Expertly managed by Rafael and Delphine, everything here is just so fresh. Having stayed a number of places in Tanzania over the years, I can tell you that this is without a doubt, my #1 and most favorite place of all in Arusha. I always go out of my way to ensure that I use this lodge whenever leading safaris in Tanzania.

Behind every great lodge is a great Chef and that is certainly the case with Rivertrees. Can you imagine going on an airplane for the first time, riding an elevator, and traveling outside of the city that you were borne and raised in? That is exactly what Chef Marietha did as she journeyed last year Dar es Salam to face off with other Chefs from Tanzania in the annual Tanzania Chef’s Competition. In a totally male dominated industry, Chef Marietha rose to the occasion and came in 3rd across all of Tanzania. Great job Marietha.

Cheers and happy photo’ing.
I’m now off to collect my inbound travels from the airport and hopefully I will also find my bag waiting for me.
