Safari Update Day 3 (28 Sept 2013) – Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater

Safari Update Day 3 (28 Sept 2013) – Tarangire National Park to Ngorongoro Crater
Sunrise at 630-ish
28 degrees C, clear skies

As we made our way our of Tarangire, we were presented with another lioness sitting on a grass mound for our last lion shots in the park. Saying goodbye to the park, we do so with photographs of 4 of the Big Five already in our photo bucket. We stopped at Gibbs Farm for a tour of the incredible gardens and a presentation of traditional healing methods by the local Maasai Medicine Man. After our wonderful organic lunch, we started making our way to the Ngorongoro Crater, with a stop along the way at a Maasai village for a Maasai school visit. At the end of our Maasai visit, I set up some environmental portraits for the clients using some of the local Maasai Warriors. Soon it was time to move onward to our impressive camp on the rim of the Crater. This camp will be our home for two nights as we explore the famous Ngorongoro Crater.

As night as falls, the temperature has dropped and a quick rain shower has cleared the air. Everyone is excited for a full day in the Crater, a place that can be pure magic.

Cheers and happy photo’ing.  Blogging live from the bottom of the Ngorongoro Crater via AT&T.
